As a reminder, employers are required to complete OSHA Form 300-A Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses for 2022 by February 1, 2023, and to post it through April 30, 2023.
The Form 300 is the Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses that employers must use to record all new cases of work-related fatalities, injuries, and illnesses if they involve:
- death,
- days away from work,
- restricted work or transfer to another job,
- medical treatment beyond first aid,
- loss of consciousness, or
- a significant injury or illness diagnosed by a physician or other licensed healthcare professional.
The 300-A form summarizes work-related injuries and illnesses employees experienced during the prior year. Most employers with 10 or more full-time employees are required to, among other things: a) keep a yearly log (Form 300) of reportable work-related injuries and illnesses; and b) post a summary of work-related injuries and illnesses (Form 300-A) each year. A copy of Form 300-A must be posted in each establishment in a conspicuous place or places where notices to employees are usually posted. A list of industries that are covered by this recordkeeping rule can be found here. A list of industries that are exempt from this recordkeeping rule can be found at: https://www.osha.gov/recordkeeping/presentations/exempttable
